查看全图 Do we really have problems? Or are we presented with situations that help us grow?

All of the things we are faced with teach us what we need to learn, if we’re open to adjusting our perceptive to the lesson instead of the problem.

With this shift of perspective, there are no problems, only events or circumstances the help us learn and grow.

All things, with time transform, get better, or go away completely.

Nature has the incredible power to heal itself, to grow and flourish and we are not separate from this.

We are nature.
查看全图 This year has been great for the environment - or has it? I don’t think so.

For all of the jet fuel taken out of the skies and the carbon emissions from vehicles reduced, the single use plastic and PE gear pollution has for sure had an extreme increase as well as countries like Australia, United States and China taking a renewed interest in fossil fuels to boost their economies.

But that element aside, the real point here is that although some pollution problems have been seriously reduced, there was no intention to do so.

Meaning, given the chance, we’ll likely go back to our easy, comfortable way of life, given the chance. Maybe more so than ever as we’ve been deprived of it - it’s kind of like a healthy diet.

I’m not trying to be negative here.

There’s a saying: “The road to hell is paved with good intentions”.

Meaning, that intentions alone won’t create the good outcome. It is actions that do.

This time we’ve been missing the intentions however our actions created a positive change. Yet, prior to March, our intentions were there yet our actions were not.

So while a side-affect of fear has had some positive consequences, the intention to make serious, sustainable change is seriously missing. Obviously not with everyone, and everywhere. Wonderful changes are being made around the globe, however we ought not to be complacent to think that our environmental problems are being solved simply because travel isn’t an option.

We need our industries to change and to do that, our demand for supply must represent our intentions.

Good things are happening.

查看全图 To have a positive influence in this world we must first make positive changes within ourselves.

Seeing our mistakes as lessons and our successes with detachment will help guide us each into a place where we can then help guide others.

Imagine the state of the world if we all as individuals took the time needed to introspect and self-reflect instead of racing from one thing to another driven from our need to survive into excessive luxury and false fulfillment...

Is it not our greatest responsibility as an individual to take care of ourselves mentally, emotionally, physically and intellectually?

Perhaps in this time of renewed self-interest and intention-setting we could all do with a little less do-ing and a little more self-enquiry.
查看全图 Everything will stabilize naturally, over time. Without force, balance will come - this is the natural effort of nature.

With force, we’re not finding balance, we’re pushing extremes from one end to another. Our presence on this planet could be seen as a forceful effort to exist. If so, our existence is the constant imbalance, while nature is at the same time moving to re-balance.

The great debate of climate change often allures the mind to ‘what can we do to fix things?’. Perhaps it’s not what we can do be what we can stop doing. Some of these answers are too obvious for our over-thinking society.

And on an individual level - when we’re trying balance ourselves, do we add more to find balance or take away to re-balance? I’d go with the later.

Our harmony already exists, both within ourselves and with our co-existence.

So when it’s time to change, and find ‘balance’ perhaps it’s time to strip things away instead of adding more. The more things we have to balance, the harder it is to find.

查看全图 How can I be more humble?

It’s a good question to ask ourselves. It’s a checking-in to see if perhaps, the excitement of our ego is leading our actions rather than our own life-built integrity.

It’s a question that nature will not forgive no matter our ideas and reasons we conjure.

The powers of nature, beyond our own self can easily dictate if we ought to slow down, stop or be completely redirected but nature has a particular force, to make things extra obvious.

Perhaps we can avoid these occasional, or frequent overwhelming experiences by being a little more attuned with the natural waves of life, instead of forcing our way against it.

And perhaps, that when we are forcing our way against the natural flow, we’re doing so because our egoic pursuits are driving us, and this simple question could allow space for a moment to step back, and re-align...

How can I be more humble?
查看全图 You’re not going to drown as fast as you think.

Evolution has created us in such a way, that even when we think it’s our last breath, underwater the throat closes despite our physiological desire to breathe, blocking the water that may enter the lungs, giving our body just a little more time to make it out alive.

But before this, without practice, we allow the mind to panic, we grasp for air and we ruin our hopes of survival by over-reacting.

So to bring this into our emotional systems, daily. How do we react? When something doesn’t go our way - do we jump to the worst case scenario and act out our emotions based on that, or do we wait?

Do we trust? Trust that with our proven past experience, we see that usually matters of urgent emotional needs aren’t actually that urgent. Do we trust, from experience, that most things tend to work out after our emotions have calmed and we’re able to see clearly?

So why do we react with heightened emotions first? Do these immediate reactions cause more problems than the problem we think is a problem but usually is not a problem…?

Usually, it’s a lack of practice. That’s correct, practice. We need, as social humans, practice to be socially human. We need to practice the many things we do daily. We need to practice how we interact with others, how we engage with ourselves and we need to practice our Emotional Intelligence. A topic which should be taught in primary schools.

Our emotional reactivity to the world can determine our life experience. This skill can relate to our general happiness and our attitude towards life.

Does life squash us with all of our problems? Or is life a set of challenges, helping us learn and grow?

We are not drowning, we are being given a chance to pause, reflect and trust in our experience.

There is a lesson in everything, even the little things that annoy us - those little things can be our greatest teachers.

查看全图 The meaning of our life is not to find meaning at all, it’s to experience it.

The mind desperately wants to figure everything out, but what about just feeling?

Feeling, being, the experience - all of these have no words. They are not conversations or equations.

We can only vaguely describe what we feel but truly, our words are not the experience.

To strip all of these observations, calculations, words and ideas away is to just be.

To be one with nature, as we are.
查看全图 We can never truly know how others perceive the world, therefore compassion must come first and all other assumptions to be second.

🧡

This is Sima from Rajasthan, India. A 19 year old woman who invited my friend Harry and I in for tea and veg pakora. Her perception to life is vastly different than mine, though, she showed us compassion beyond the compassion I expressed to the world. People like Sima teach us, in the most humble way, to be more soft and gentle with our judgement of others 🙏

查看全图 Don’t chase life, let life happen.

It doesn’t mean to say to have no effort, a little can go a long way, if the direction is right.

But when we force things, it often means, it’s not right. You can’t put a big object in a small hole so why put big energy in the wrong direction?

It’s important to question this within ourselves, when things just don’t seem to be flowing along, like they have done in the past.

You know, in the past, when somehow things were just working out for us and going our way. That’s because our focus was more likely on what we’re supposed to be doing, not what we thought we should be doing.

How do I find out the natural way for our individual human self?

We need to reflect on what it is that we’re doing and why. Why am I doing what I am doing?

Usually we find two reasons:
1. It just feels right, the heart is guiding us.
2. Ego, fear and misleading beliefs - you know, the ones we never questioned.

These two questions, at its core, will reveal the integrity of our intentions. It’s a hard one to ask ourselves because when we find the answers, we have to be brutally honest. If this can be acknowledged then we have a step in the direction of effortless actions... You know, the actions that just happen without too much thought, but have great reward.

Somehow, living as a human, has wonderful rewards when what we do is done with integrity. But integrity isn’t just handed to us. It’s a constant process of self-evaluation.

Am I doing this for my ego or with my heart?

🧡
查看全图 Our energy is our money and it comes and goes, I can promise you.

However, if we hold onto it with fear it won’t return, it will become stagnant, it won’t move.

Money is what we exchange for things we consume, this is energy - it’s transferring one thing into another. Grasping, not allowing for movement will prevent that transformation, this is what we call a blockage.

It’s the same for everything, life is in motion - only the mind tries to pause it.

🧡
查看全图
查看全图 I wonder, is this experience that we’re sharing, is it exactly how life is meant to be?

If it is then it’s inclusive of all of our ‘good’ and ‘bad’ experiences and if that’s the case the un-preferred is there to guide us closer to the preferred.

If it’s not meant to be like this, then why is it? Why is the state of our world this way?
